Eastern Market Murals in the Market is a curated public art event that is now an integral part of the Eastern Market experience. More than 50 local and international muralists are invited each year to create large-scale public art in the district. This creation of murals has a visual impact on the surrounding neighborhood by increasing foot traffic, economic development and improving safety. The yearly festival showcases Detroit's creative spirit and includes exhibitions, installations, live music, children's workshops, community events, artist talks and more throughout the Eastern Market District.
